Ecuador, 2009

I applied for and received the NCECA Graduate Fellowship prize in order to go to Ecuador with my Professor Richard Burkett and Joe Molinaro.  We went to study and document both ancient meso-american pottery in the Ecuadorian Banco Central museum vaults as well as the current artists like Estella, continuing to work within the traditions of their culture and their experience.  I fell in love with the architecture, landscape, and the people of Ecuador as much as their ceramics, it is a really special place.
